The Trojans lost a couple of close ones to the visiting Eufaula Tigers.
The boys lost by a final count of 48-45 while the Lady Trojans fell 53 – 38.
The first quarter was marked by very aggressive play from EHS. The score at the end of the quarter had CHHS up by a score of 11 – 6 but Eufaula had already reached the bonus situation with 7 team fouls before the period ended. CHHS was equally hampered when Tyler Mitchell picked up his second foul before the end of the quarter and sat the remainder of the half.
Quante Shockley for the Trojans did all he could in the second quarter to pick up the slack. He scored six of his first half 10 points in the period and was a presence on the boards as well. The score was tied three different times in the quarter with the last one at 21 all when Devontez Jordan for CHHS made two free throws to tie the game at 21. EHS took a 24-22 lead at the half.
The girls game featured a major comeback from the home team. Steals by Ashanti Burks , Tysheria Ryles and Maya Monfistion led to layin opportunities that were instrumental and a rebound and putback by Ryles was the final basket before halftime.
The second half saw a basket by Burks tie the score for the final time at 31. The visitors went on a 22 – 6 run the remainder of the game to put the final out of reach for the Trojans. The ladies were led in scoring by India Blakely with 12 points.
