Tis the season for racing

I wrote about two upcoming 5K’s in Troy for today’s Troy Messenger, but there was one event I had not heard about.
Besides the Troy Elementary School run in February and the Brittany Shepard Pugh run in March, there is the Technology Trot 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run to benefit Pike Liberal Arts.
The race is on March 17, and early registration ends on March 1. The cost to enter the 5K, either before or after March 1, is $15, but participants aren’t guaranteed a T-shirt after March 1. Registration for the fun run is $10 and does not include a shirt, but shirts may be purchased for $10.
Awards will be given to the tip 3 overall male and female runners and the top three in different age groups.
Race day registration begins at Pike Liberal Arts School at 7 a.m., the 5K starts an hour later and the 1-mile fun run is at 9 a.m.
All proceeds will go toward purchasing new computers for the school.
You can visit active.com, or PLAS to register.
