Ray Hubert Greathouse

Ray Hubert Greathouse, age 76, of Montgomery, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge with Rev.K. Fred Wilks officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Greathouse retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation.  He played semi-pro baseball in his younger years.  This is where he developed a true love for the game.  He also loved Alabama football.

He is survived by his sister, Darthy Young of Brundidge; a nephew, Richard (Mandy) Young of Troy; great-nephews, Justin and Will Young; devoted caregiver, Sally Sichel; good friend, Willie Smilie; and several cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Myrtis Greathouse.

Active pallbearers will be Richard, Justin and Will Young, Buron Thompson, Robert Fleming and Lamar Steed.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
