Parrish Bean, one of two people accused of being accomplices in a March home invasion in Troy, was denied youthful offender status on Tuesday.

Bean and Deanna McLeod, also a suspect, were both 20 at the time of the crime.

They are each charged with one count of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of attempted murder and one count of murder in relation to the home invasion that resulted in a Troy couple being severely wounded and lead to the death of Thomas White, the man police identify as the intruder.

McLeod and Bean are accused of driving White to the neighborhood where the home invasion occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on March 5. Under Alabama Code, those involved in a crime that leads to a death can be charged in that death.

According to court records, McLeod is scheduled for a youthful offender hearing on Nov. 6. Jury selection in her trial is set for Nov. 7 and a trial could begin as early as Nov. 8.

Bean is not yet scheduled for trial, according to court records.

Both suspects have entered not guilty pleas and are being held in the Pike County Jail on $420,000 bonds while they await further court proceedings.
