Friday notes

I have five football games to cover in three days, so sorry for the short posts.

Some small football news. Junior running back Khary Franklin, who has been out since the Mississippi State game, is done for the season and will apply for a medical redshirt after having surgery to repair a torn labrum this past week. Franklin had three carries for 23 yards in three games.

The Trojans (5-5, 3-3 Sun Belt) take on Arkansas State (7-3, 5-1) on Saturday for homecoming.

One thing that has kind of flown under the radar is Arkansas State wide receiver Josh Jarboe’s return to Troy. Jarboe from Oklahoma’s football team for posting a profanity-filled video to YouTube.com before transferring to Troy. Once on campus, Troy University police cited Jarboe twice for misdemeanor harassment in 2009 and disorderly conduct in 2010.

Troy head coach Larry Blakeney was short with his thoughts on seeing Troy ousted receiver again.

“Jarboe? Jarboe who? I don’t know. I don’t keep up with Jarboe,” he said.

On paper, it looks like Troy could be in for another shootout. Here’s a look at the offensive stat comparison’s with national rankings.
