A source has told me that former Troy wide receiver Gary Banks has been offered the position of wide receivers coach. Currently offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield serves as inside receivers coach and Shayne Wasden coaches the outside receivers. Banks was named First-team All-Sun Belt in 2006 and Second-Team All-Sun Belt in 2007.
Burke County assistant coach Jim Dye has reportedly been offered the offensive line coach position. Dye, nephew of former Auburn coach Pat Dye, walked on at Georgia before transferring to Georgia Southern. He also served as a graduate assistant at Auburn. Dye has also made coaching stops at Hephzibah High School, Valdosta State, East Tennessee State, Troy (1993-2002), Rutland High School and Mary Persons High School.
Navarro College defensive coordinator Dustin Landry is a top candidate to replace Julius Brown as Troy’s cornerbacks coach. Landry served four season as a defensive assistant under former Auburn head coach Gene Chizik.
