Pike Liberal Arts softball star signs to play for Faulkner State

Pike Liberal Arts senior Joselyn Jones signed a scholarship to play softball for Faulkner State college in Bay Minette on Friday.
Jones a standout for the Patriots said she is excited to get the opportunity to play softball at the college level.
“It’s really exciting,” she said. “It fells good to get it done now. I can relax and enjoy my senior season.”
Jones was selected to the AISA All-Star team last year.
Jones had attended camps and played summer travel ball for years. Thats where first-year Faulkner head coach Sam White discovered Jones.
“She puts tremendous effort into her play every time out,” he said.
“She works extremely hard and is a quiet leader. What she does on the field rubs off on the rest of her team.”
Pike Liberal Arts athletic director and softball coach Wayne Grant said Faulkner State couldn’t have chosen a harder worker.
“She comes to workout most every weekend. She puts in the extra work you need to be successful. I’m sure she will continue that with Faulkner State,” he said.
The Patriots will open the softball season at home against Emmanuel Christian on Feb 19.
