Sept. 7 – Savannah State
Coming off a tough loss to Georgia Southern, Savannah State is struggling to find any sort of rhythm. Troy doesn’t help matters by blowing the game open early.
Running back Michael Lindsey explodes for 150 yards and a pair of scores for the game. Deon Anthony gives the Tigers defense fits and rushed for another 100 yards and a score.
Troy led this one 24-3 at halftime and didn’t look back in the second half.
Corey Robinson hooks up with Bryan Holmes to start the half for a 75-yard touchdown and the blowout is officially on.
Robinson finishes the game with 275 yards and two scoring strikes, the other to Chandler Worthy.
Not much of a game here as the Trojans are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2008.
RESULT: Troy WINS big, 45-10.
STAT OF THE GAME: Deon Anthony 12-for-16, 115 yards, 8 carries, 100 yards, 1TD
