Is Troy in running for former AU safety?

Former Auburn University safety Erique Florence was spotted on Troy’s campus on Monday.
Florence, a Valley High School product, left Auburn’s team due to personal reasons in March. He recorded 23 tackles after playing in all 13 games as a freshman in 2011 but didn’t seem to fit in Brian VanGorder’s defense last season playing mostly in sub-packages.
The former Under Armour All-American Game participant would be a junior and would have to sit out the 2013 season if he transferred to another FBS school.
Florence picked Auburn over USC and Alabama as the nation’s No. 4 safety according to ESPN.com/Scouts Inc. and the No. 52 player overall on the ESPNU 150.
Erique’s twin brother Eriquel has signed with Arizona State after two seasons at Contra Costa (Calf.) Community College.
It will be interesting to see how Erique fits into Troy’s plans as scholarships may be hard to come by at this point in the year. For a talent like Florence, Troy may have to do some shuffling around.
