Two people were injured and traffic stalled in both directions after a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 87 Friday afternoon.
The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. in front of the entrance to Forest Acres Mobile Home Park. After the collision, a black newer-model Camry was left sitting sideways in the middle of the four-lane road.
A green Ford Explorer continued up onto the nearby gas station’s curb and property and came to a rest after crashing into a large sign advertising gas prices.
The sign was left mangled from the impact and the front of both vehicles were demolished.
Traffic began to flow more smoothly by about 5:45 p.m. after ambulances and first responder vehicles were able to clear the scene.
Troy Police, Alabama State Troopers, Troy Fire Department and CARE Ambulance responded to the crash.
The condition of those in the crash, along with other information was not available at deadline. Troopers are investigating the crash.
