The Pike County Bulldogs fell to the Slocomb Red Tops 31-13 in Slocomb this Friday night.
The Bulldogs trailed 21-13 at the half but were outscored 10-0 in the second half as Slocomb pulled away for an easy victory.
With the win, Slocomb clinched the second seed in Region 2. Pike County made the playoffs, but they will travel to face fifth-ranked Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats in Montgomery as the fourth seed out of Region 2.
Pike County and Trinity have never met on the football field.
Before the playoffs, Pike County will have to deal with the Opp Bobcats. The Bobcats are also a 3A playoff team, and the match up will give the Bulldogs a chance to play a high-caliber opponent to tune-up for the Wildcats.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Brundidge.
The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots fell on the road to the Monroe Academy Volunteers 55-7.
The loss means that the Patriots will finish winless in region play for the second year in a row. Before 2012, the Patriots had not gone winless in region play since 2000.
The loss drops the Patriots to 1-8 on the season, but the Patriots will look to pick up their second win of the year next week against Ashford.
Ashford comes in to the match up with a 2-7 record.
Pike and Ashford have met 22 times before. Pike holds a 14-7-1 advantage in the series and has outscored the Falcons 596-331.
Last year, the Falcons beat the Patriots 44-0 in Troy.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Ashford.
