Charles Henderson puts three on ASWA All-state first team

While the Charles Henderson Trojans didn’t bring home the state title trophy earlier this month, three players were tabbed as some of the state’s elite.
Defensive back Tedarion Myhand, linebacker Richard McBryde and athlete John Johnson were named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State team this week.
Three other Trojans, offensive lineman Hunter Kennedy, defensive back Demario Harris and quarterback Austin Ingram were named All-State Honorable Mention.
Myhand was seemingly in the right place at the right time every time an opposing team put the Bal in the air.
The senior defensive back picked off nine passes, returning two for touchdowns in the 2013 season. Myhand also accounted for 88 tackles and forced four fumbles.
McBryde, a junior, was the quarterback of the Trojan defense that averaged giving up just 15.5 points per game. McBryde finished with team-high 163 tackles and 10 sacks.
Athlete John Johnson set the 4A football world on fire during his senior campaign.
Johnson totalled 2,474 all-purpose yards and notched 38 touchdowns during the season.
Johnson scored 25 rushing touchdowns, 10 receiving and one on a punt return.
Johnson also completed a 51-yard pass to the one yard line against Dora in the first round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Playoffs. ,coming less than three feet shy of another touchdown.
