Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jack Rector of Bethlehem, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Marie, to Gregory Dean Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Paschal Anderson of Troy. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson Arrowood and Mrs. Anna Pauline Rector of Hickory, N.C., and the late Mr. Norman Jack Rector Sr.
Dr. Anna Rector is a 2004 graduate of Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, N.C.  She received her bachelor degree in Biology and Animal Science from North Carolina State University and a doctorate from Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.  She completed her clinical year at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She is a member of Chi Omega sorority.  Anna is presently employed at Ocean Isle Veterinary Hospital in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. The future groom is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Douglas Hawkins of Troy and Mr. and Mrs. Grady Pat Anderson of Troy.
Dr. Dean Anderson is a 2005 graduate of Pike Liberal Arts School and attended Auburn University, where he received a bachelor degree in Animal Sciences and a doctorate from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta and Alpha Psi Veterinary Fraternity. Dean is presently employed at Brunswick Animal Hospital in Brunswick County, N.C.
The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. on May 31, 2014, at Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory, N.C.  A reception will follow at Lake Hickory Country Club.  The couple plan to reside in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
