The annual Brundidge Business Association’s annual Independence Day Parade is set for June 28 in downtown Brundidge.
The parade is held, traditionally, on the last Saturday in June and this year is no exception, said Chuck Caraway, BBA president.
“The parade will be at 9 a.m. and follow a Main Street route,” Caraway said. “This year, being an election year, we are expecting a large number of politicians to participate along with Misses and Little Misses from around the area. We’ll have a variety of entries including professionally prepared floats. Everyone is invited to join the parade and celebrate our country’s independence.”
To reserve a place in the parade, call 334-735-3400.
“Following the Independence Day parade, there will be a presentation at the Knox Ryals Pavilion on the grounds of Brundidge City Hall.
“At that time, we will honor the 2014 Independence Day Grand Marshal, Randy Ross and pay tribute to all local veterans.”
Caraway said all visiting area queens and Miss and Little Miss representatives will also be presented on stage.
“Most of these Misses and Little Misses will be representing their hometowns in the annual Miss Peanut Festival pageant in Dothan in the fall,” Caraway said.
“Following the program at the Knox Ryals Pavilion, Miss Brundidge Aimee Frankum and Little Miss Brundidge Addie Davis will host a tea for all the visiting city and county representatives.
