For football fans eager for the season to begin, the Downtown Troy Tailgate 2014 will be a great way to kick it off.

Pike Liberal Arts School’s head coach Gene Allen, Charles Henderson High School head coach Brad McCoy, Troy University’s head coach Larry Blakeny and athletic director John Hartwell will be on hand for meeting and greeting fans and giving autographs.
“Fall and football in the south are a rite of passage and certainly a lot of people’s favorite pastime,” Troy Mayor Jason Reeves said. “We are excited about the upcoming seasons of Troy University, Charles Henderson High School and Pike Liberal Arts School, and this will be a kickoff event that should be a lot of fun for everyone.
Troy Public Relations and Tourism Director Shelia Jackson encouraged fans to spend their lunch hour coming to the event.
“For that one hour, it brings the community together for fellowship and great entertainment,” Jackson said. “ It’s a great way to kick off football season. We are ready for football here in Pike county.”
