Dr. Jim Shaddix will preach the morning worship service at Bush Memorial Baptist Church in Troy on Sunday and at a special service Sunday night.
Childcare will be provided for all services. Everyone is welcome and invited to come.
Dwayne Norman, pastor, said Shaddix was his preaching professor when he was a student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003-2004.
“Dr. Shaddix is a wonderful teacher and himself a faithful preacher of the Word of God,” Norman said. “I learned more from him in two semesters than probably any other teacher I have ever had. It’s really an honor for us to have Dr. Shaddix in our community.”
Shaddix serves in a dual role as Professor of Preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. and Pastor of Teaching and Training at The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham.
He has pastored churches in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Colorado, and also served as Dean of the Chapel and professor of preaching at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans.
“Dr. Shaddix and his wife, Debra, focus much of their attention on discipling and mentoring young leaders and spouses,” Norman said. “Dr. Shaddix also is the author of two books, ‘Power in the Pulpit’ with Jerry Vines and ‘The Passion Driven Sermon.’”
