DOTHAN POST – A two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6, claimed the life of an Opp mother and daughter, and it injured a brother and sister. Driver Mavis Elaine Beavers, 62, and Mavis Johnson Boutwell, 80, were both killed when the 2006 Honda Civic in which they were traveling collided with a 2003 Nissan Frontier driven by Mohmedraza S. Momin, 20, of Elba. Momin and 19-year-old Nishat S. Momin were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The crash occurred on U.S. 84 in the intersection of Covington Road 73 one mile west of Opp. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate
