The Troy University baseball team held their Trojans in Disguise: Costumes for Cans fund raiser Sunday at Riddle-Pace field on the Troy University campus.
As a fun way to wrap up their fall practice, Trojan baseball players participated in a 9-inning intrasquad costume game on Sunday.
Admission was free, but all spectators were asked to bring a canned food item to assist the Troy University Student Athletic Advisory Committee in its canned food drive for the Pike County Human Resource Center.
The players dressed in the costume of their choosing for the game.
In the end, Team Cardinal — position players — defeated Team Black — pitchers — 6-5.
Though the game was only scheduled to be five innings, the players decided to play nine.
Large quantities of canned goods were collected as a result of the game, the university said.
