Former Kentucky assistant Neal Brown has been hired as head football coach at Troy, the university announced Sunday.

Troy announced the news via their Twitter.

“Fans … New Troy football head coach Neal Brown will land at the Troy airport at approx. 4:15 p.m.; come out & welcome him back to Troy,” the tweet read.

The specifics of Brown’s contract have not been formally announced, though reports from SI.com say the contract would a five-year, $3.5 million deal.

A press conference is scheduled Monday at 9:30 a.m. to formally introduce Brown.
