Goshen Volunteer Fire Department responded to a room and content fire on Jennifer Street at approximately 3 a.m. Friday.
Assistant Fire Chief Clay McDougald said the fire did not take long to extinguish after their arrival.
“It was probably 15 minutes or so,” McDougald said. “It was a pretty easy call. I don’t think it was a suspicious fire. The cause was more than likely electrical. The home didn’t have any working smoke detectors.”
Although McDougald said there was a possibility the fire was electrical, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
