CHHS tops Stanhope Elmore

Charles Henderson only needed six innings to dispatch of Stanhope Elmore Friday in Millbrook after defeating the Mustangs 14-2.
The batters for Charles Henderson got off to a hot start early in the first inning, driving in four runs.
Stanhope Elmore responded in the bottom of the first with offense of its own, scoring two runs to narrow the Charles Henderson lead to 4-2.
But it was the defense for each team that took control after the first inning, as both exchanged fruitless at-bats for the next three innings.
But in the fifth and sixth innings, the Trojans took control of the game, scoring 10 unanswered runs, including eight in the sixth, to clinch the game over the Mustangs.
Austin Ingram pitched a complete game against Stanhope Elmore, going six innings and allowing just five hits and two runs.
Reilly Fox and Chase Smartt led Charles Henderson with three RBIs each, and Smartt and Chase Hartley both went yard in the game.
