Mr. and Mrs. Ken Messick of Troy announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Joy, to Chad Brandon Roberson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Roberson of Ramer.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Messick and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Outlaw of Troy and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pope of Henderson.

Messick is a 2009 graduate of Charles Henderson High School and a 2012 graduate of Troy University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. Messick recently graduated in December with a Master’s of Science in secondary education and mathematics. Messick is currently employed with Troy City Schools.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. Morris Tucker and the late Mrs. Shirley Tucker of Ramer, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Roberson of Olanta, S.C. and the late Mrs. Doris Strickland of Coward, S.C.

Roberson is a 2009 graduate of South Montgomery County Academy. He is a member of South Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department. Roberson is presently employed with Lockheed Martin in Troy.

The wedding is planned for June 6, 2015 at Joquin Baptist Church in Goshen at 6:30 p.m.
