Barbara Porter Wilkinson, age 78, a longtime resident of Troy, Alabama, passed away May 3, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Wilkinson is possibly best known for the years of fun and exciting sportsmanship she provided at the Pike Lanes Bowling Alley.  When she wasn’t rooting for her bowling comrades, she loved to cheer for the Chicago Cubs and Washington Redskins, tune into a John Wayne show, and care for her dogs. Mrs. Wilkinson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Perks Porter; and her beloved husband of 44 years, R.P. “Buck” Wilkinson. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Pete Wilkinson, Lenora Smith, Guy Wilkinson and Deborah Davis; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, William M. “Bill” Porter, II, and Richard “Dick” Porter; and a very special friend and caregiver, Karen Langston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice Advantage of Troy (PO Box 965, Troy, Alabama 36081) or to the Pike County Humane Society Spay and Neuter fund (PO Box 296, Troy, AL 36081). Friends and family can sign the guestbook online at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilkinson family.
