Brown Bag ending

The final Brown Bag event of the season will be this Thursday in the Studio in Downtown Troy.
“It’s so hot that we decided to move it inside,” said Sheila Jackson, public relations director for the City of Troy. “We didn’t want anything to happen. It’s been a good year for Brown Bag. We want to close with a bang.”
For the final Brown Bag event of the season, organizations from across the city will have tables and booths set up to allow the community to ask questions and learn more about those organizations. Organizations including Troy Regional Medical Center, Pike County Child Advocacy Center, Humble Hearts Inc., the Boys and Girls Club, the Johnson Center for the Arts and many more will be present at the event.
“We thought it would be good to give the opportunity to show what they have to offer and what they do,” Jackson said. “People may not know what they do. They may not know what the hospital offers and some people live in Troy and have not been to the Johnson Center. There is a lot to do here in the city.”
Jackson also mentioned the service organizations that would be present would allow the community to know about all the work that they do within the city.
Because Little Jimmy Reed was such a hit at the last Brown Bag event, he will be jazzing up Downtown Troy once again on Thursday.
“If you haven’t been to a Brown Bag, you’ve missed a good downtown time,” Jackson said. “Just to have the support from the community coming out and everybody coming together is just wonderful. It’s a good thing for the City of Troy.
The Brown Bag event will begin in the Studio in Downtown Troy from noon to 1 p.m. A new season of Brown Bag events will pick back up in the fall.
“We just want to invite everybody out to Brown Bag,” Jackson said.
