After winning the State Tournament the Troy Machine Pitch All-Stars will travel and take part in the World Series during the first week of August.
The Machine Pitch team will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. starting on August 2-6.
Other than taking the next couple weeks to practice the two teams will be out fundraising to help raise money to cut some of the cost for the trip.
“Our goal is like what it was for the State Tournament,” said Machine Pitch head coach Adam Brookins. “We want to look after our parents. Our goal is that the parents don’t have to pay anything out of pocket for our hotel room.”
“Every amount is welcome, because it adds up. Every kid should have their parent there to watch them play, and that’s what we hope to do.”
The Machine Pitch team’s goal is to raise more than $10,000 so they can pay for a room for each player and his parents.
Some of the things Brookins and the Machine Pitch team are planning to do to raise money are to have a drawing to give a way an 8 x 10 foot storage building, and tickets for the raffle will cost $10.00.
People will be able to purchase raffle tickets from any one of the team’s players or parents.
The players on the Machine Pitch team also will be at Sante Fe Restaurant to attend a “give back night” on July 23 where Sante Fe will donate 10 percent of their nightly earnings to the Machine Pitch team.
“We are representing the State of Alabama. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to win the State championship,” Brookins said. “To be able to represent their town and the state in the World Series is huge. We are going to have to have some outside help to get there.”
The Machine Pitch team has also set up a gofundme account where people can donate money through the website, as well.
