Troy Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of County Road 5529 at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday. According to Capt. Buford Stephens with Troy Fire, the property was vacant and no injuries were reported. According to Stephens, the fire had been burning 15 to 30 minutes before it was called in. Stephens said the fire was under control in about 30 minutes after arriving on scene and was completely out in about two and a half hours. “It took us a little longer because we had to shuttle water due to a fire hydrant not being nearby,” Stephens said. The property was a total loss, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
