Mr. Fred Carter of Brundidge, AL passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 96. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Robinson and Rev. Bobby Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until service time. Mr. Carter was born January 16, 1919 in Pike County, AL to the late Silas Carter and Mattie Graves Carter. He proudly served his country in the US Army in WWII in the Pacific Theater. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, 4 Battle Stars, Purple Heart, 1 Oakleaf Cluster and a Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Carter was the Trustee for the Robert L. Williams Trust Fund for Williams Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a Pike County Deputy Sheriff and was employed with S.A. Graham Construction Company for 50 years. He is survived by his son, Theodore Carter, Troy; nephews, Steve Carter (Judy) and Rayvon Graham (Polly), all of Brundidge; nieces, Charlotte Johnson (Bill) and Sharon Spann (Ronnie) all of Phenix City; and many, many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Graham, Danny Graham, Jason Senn, John Shipman, Ronnie Spann and Johnny Brogdon.
