More than 100 runners participated in the Troy Junior Women’s League Brittany Shephard Pugh Memorial 5K/10K run on Saturday.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with how smoothly everything went Saturday morning. God blessed us with perfect weather and runner participation was outstanding,” said Tessa Paul, coordinator for the event.

In all, 127 runners participated in four events. The event also included a one-mile fun run and the Shep Sprint run for children.

“Being the fifth annual run, we wanted to do something a little more special than in previous years so we added a 10K route,” Paul said. “Brittany and Shep, as well as their families, remain the focus and reason we strive to make the event better every year. Thank you to each participant, sponsor, supporter, policeman, volunteer and TJWL member for making this year’s run a huge success.”

Overall winners in the 5K were Austin Brooks and Natalie Sutter and in the 10K overall winners were Josh Burgans and Leah Baldwin.
