A search on Friday led to the discovery of marijuana and a stolen weapon as well as the arrests of three Brundidge men.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said deputies worked with the Brundidge Police Department to execute a search warrant at a residence at 265 Ramage Street about 2 p.m. Friday.
“This was part of an ongoing investigation,” Thomas said. “We suspected drug activity and were able to obtain the search warrant.”
Once there, officers found a container with 37 bags of what Thomas described as “high-grade marijuana” as well as multiple loaded weapons.
“There were three pistols, including two 9 mm pistols and one 45 (mm),” Thomas said. “Al three were loaded and two were cocked with the hammer back.”
Moreover, Thomas said officers also found a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun. “And there was a 2-year-old child in the residence.”
In addition to the drugs and guns, deputies recovered two sets of digital scales and $1,020 in cash.
Three men were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia: Alexander Rodgers, 28, of 265 Ramage St.; Joey Davis Snell, 28, of 3041 County Road 4408; and Terrell Johns, 28, of 316 Johns St.
Johns also was charged with resisting arrest.
All three men have been released on bond.
“The investigation is continuing,” Thomas said.
