The suspect in last week’s robbery at Hungry Howie’s Pizza in Troy is now behind bars.
Police arrested 22-year-old Trey Mathew Jiles of Troy around 4 p.m. on Monday. He has been charged with two counts of robbery first degree, stemming from two separate incidents at the U.S. 231 business.
Police identified Jiles as the suspect in the March 9 armed robbery, during he we produced a handgun and ordered a clerk to empty the cash register. Jiles also is charged with a Feb. 18 robbery, in which he entered the store clothed in dark clothes and mask over his face, brandishing a weapon, said Police Chief Randall Barr. The clerk and employees fled the store after they saw him enter.
“We executed a search warrant on Jiles’ residence and recovered articles of clothing and a handgun that was used in the robberies,” Barr said. “
Jiles was being held in the Pike County Jail on $200,000 bond.
“We were very fortunate in this case that it all came together,” Barr said.
