AAA Rookies fall to Enterprise

The Troy AAA Rookies scored in the game’s first four innings on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough as they lost to the rival Enterprise Nationals 5-4 in the opening round of the district tournament.

The loss forces the Rookies into the losers bracket on Friday and they will go up against the loser of Greenville and Eufaula for a chance to keep playing.

Seth Berry pitched the first three innings allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four. Tyler McLendon pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs on two hits and had seven strikeouts.

The Rookies held a 3-1 heading into the fourth inning. Enterprise scored four runs in the top half of the fourth and held the Rookies to just one more run and held on to the win.

The Rookies finished with 11 hits and were led by Pruitt Vaughan who had three hits and Kade Brookins and Cade Edwards who finished with two hits.
