Betty P. Day, Sarasota, FL, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 24, 2016.  Originally from Troy, Betty had been a long-time resident of Sarasota for 25 years.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Phillips of Troy.  She is survived by her son, J. Robert Day (Jim Grove) of Sarasota and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her first husband of 14 years, Rudolph Tillman, her second husband of 42 years, A. Duane Day, and her four sisters, Grace Pinckard, Helen McCall, Gerri Flowers, and Sarah Crowe.  Betty was a retired dental hygienist and homemaker.

 

  A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral

Home in Troy.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

The family would like to thank all those who loved, prayed, and cared for Betty during her brief illness.  Memorial donations may be made to the Roskamp Institute Sarasota or Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota.
