Mrs. Margaret Balmer, age 79, a resident of Troy, AL died Friday, July 8, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Arnold and Father Jeffery B. Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

 

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

 

Mrs. Balmer is survived by her children, Elizabeth Pelkey (Denis), Kathleen Jackson (Mack), Christine McLendon (Doug), James Balmer (Shalanda), David Balmer (Sonya), Daniel Balmer (Nicole), Amy Carswell; an adopted son, Jason Porterfield (Laura); grandchildren, John Pelkey (Mandy), Lauren Pelkey, Whitley Jackson, Matthew Jackson (Vanessa), Ken Jackson, Shelby Jackson, Kaitlin Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Douglas McLendon, Scott McLendon, Alexandria McLendon, Brooke McLendon, Jacob Balmer, Michael Balmer, Naomi Balmer, Isabella Balmer, Danny Balmer, Gracie Balmer, Christian Carswell, Amber Carswell; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Pelkey, Mason Pelkey and Matthew Jackson.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband George Balmer and her parents, Abel and Vera Garcia.

 

Pallbearers will be John Pelkey, Matthew Jackson, Ken Jackson, Douglas McLendon, Scott McLendon, Jacob Balmer, Michael Balmer, Christian Carswell, Joshua Jackson and Danny Balmer.
