Nancy Ann Gibson

GIBSON, Nancy Ann, 72, formerly of Troy, Alabama and a resident of Alpharetta, Georgia died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Gardens of Roswell assisted living facility following a long illness.

Nancy Ann was a lifelong teacher, specializing in children with emotional, learning, and behavioral disorders.

Her career took her to the Panama Canal Zone, Japan, and Germany. She lived in the Atlanta area from the 1980’s onward, and retired in 2003.

Her interests included art, travel, and collectibles from around the world. She was a great fan of all things Disney, and visited Walt Disney World many times.

Graveside services will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy, Alabama on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home Troy directing.

Survivors include brother, Carl Bascom Gibson, Jr., Troy; nephews, Rex Allen (Pamela) Vance, Jr., and Carl Gibson (Kate) Vance; nieces Laura Anne (Jan) Melnick and Carrie Allyn Gibson, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Carl B. Gibson, Sr., and Mrs. Nell Wikle Gibson; and her sister, Susan G. Sims.
