Elizabeth “Betsy” Sawyer Williford, age 64, of Troy, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 12, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Father Den Irwin officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Duncan Lindsey, Steve Hughes, Jeff Jones, Robert “KT” Cole, Jr., Louis “Buck” Jones Corley, Jr., Michael R. Amos, and Mike Rose serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hopper, Freddy Dykes, Dr. Lawrence Johnson, and Mike Kreis. Visitation will be Monday, September 12, 2016, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Williford, a native of Anniston, Alabama, moved to Troy to manage Kitchen’s Department store, where she worked for 30 years. Following her retirement, she worked with HB & G until 2007. She loved spending time with her family, working in her yard, cooking, reading, and routing for Troy and Auburn. Mrs. Williford was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Dorothy T. Sawyer, Sr.; and brother, Tim Sawyer. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Louis Fox “Sonny” Williford, Jr.; children, Louis “Fox” (Lauren) Williford, III, and Elizabeth (Trent) Stough; grandchildren, Louis “Fox” Williford, IV, Sunny Williford, and Logan Stough; brothers, Tom (Tammy) Sawyer, Jr. and Patrick (Denise) Sawyer; and sisters, Kathy (Bill) Hopper and Terry (Steve) Hughes.
