Eleanor Marie Orlofsky, 93, of Shenandoah, PA, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall, PA..

She was born April 29, 1923 in Shenandoah, a coal miner’s daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Niecier Walentukiewicz.

On June 29, 1946, in St. Casimir Catholic Church in Shenandoah, she married Charles F. Orlofsky who preceded her in death on June 23, 2016.

Mrs. Orlofsky was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who enjoyed sewing and attending Mass every day as long as she was able to do so. She was married to her husband, Charles, for 69 years until his death one week prior to their 70th wedding anniversary. As the wife of an Army officer and later Department of the Army civil servant, she lived in many locations in the United States and overseas.  She met and married Capt. Charles F. Orlofsky, also a Shenandoah native. After 30 years of Army life, the couple retired to their hometown of Shenandoah where she resided until moving to Centre Hall to be nearer her children. Eleanor was a dutiful wife and mother, and she was deeply committed to her faith, having many times reread The Imitation of Christ. She loved to tell stories about her life and family, and she was proud of her Polish culture and heritage. Surviving Mrs. Orlofsky is one daughter Mary Ellen Price (Jerre) of State College, PA; two sons, Michael Orlofsky (Diane) of Troy, Alabama, and Charles Orlofsky (Sherri) of Altoona, PA; and four grandchildren, Rachel and Noah Price, and Anna and Lizzie Orlofsky; and one sister Irene Langford of Winter Haven,  Florida.

Friends will be received from noon to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Gray’s Woods Blvd., Port Matilda, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at the church, with father Charles M. Amershek as celebrant.  Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA;  at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016.
