John Virgil Botts, 100, a resident of Banks, Alabamba, died Friday, December 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge with Pastor Lewis Norwood officiating. Burial will be held in Enon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 am.

Mr. Botts is survived by his children: Dr. Brenda Botts Riley (Dean), Barbara Botts Norwood (Lewis), Kathie Botts Brown (Bevin), and Rosemary Botts Leggett (Dr. Hugh Leggett); Grandchildren: Dallas Scott (Mehye), John Mark Scott (Aimee), Kerri Mathews (Kenny), Darren Brown, Hugh Vernon Leggett III, and Dr. Brent Lee Leggett (Dr. Linnea Leggett), and Michelle Leigh Leggett; Great-great grandchildren: Joshua Scott, Caleb Scott, Everett Scott, Garrison Scott, Presley Scott, Kenny Mathews IV and Collin Mathews; Step-daughter, Janice Powers (Camp); Step-granddaughters: Lisa, Tracy and Dana; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Mr. Botts was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Barbaree Botts and his second wife, Lila Botts, 6 brothers and a sister.
