Multiple Pike County fire stations responded with mutual aid to Coffee County on Friday evening to a report of a structure fire in Zion Chapel just off of AL-87.
Fire departments from Henderson, Spring Hill, Hamilton, Pike Fire and Rescue, Goshen and Brundidge all got the call of a structure fire in the area at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The property involved in the fire included poultry houses, and smoke could be seen coming from the poultry houses, as well as roughly five acres of woods adjacent to the houses.
The property owners declined to speak to The Messenger or allow access to the property for any photos of the blaze.
Investigators continued to fight the fire into the night as the multiple departments worked together to control the flames.
Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the incident and had not released any details at the time of publication.
