Athletes took to the track, field, pool and more to compete in the 2017 Special Olympics Alabama State Games Saturday in Troy.
The games got underway Saturday at 9 a.m. and lasted throughout the afternoon. The athletes competed in all kinds of events in the categories of track and field, aquatics, equestrian, bocce, gymnastics, golf and softball.
The athletes will gather for closing ceremonies Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Trojan Arena and celebrate at the “Victory Dance” immediately after with Elvis tribute artist Scot Bruce performing.
