NEW ARRIVALS: JCA exhibitors honored with reception

The Johnson Center for the Arts hosted a reception for exhibiting artist Michael Vaughn Sims and P. Hope Brannon Thursday night. Sims’ exhibition titled CONSTRUCTION is featured in the lower gallery. Brannon’s “No Boundaries” is in the upper gallery. Jerry Johnson, Troy University art professor, said those who like rich textures and mixed media will love both of these exhibits. Top, Chris Rich takes a closer look at Sims’ “Briar Patch” installation. Below, Joan Word, left, and Judy Dye discuss Brannon’s “Lank Marks. The exhibits will run through Aug. 19. JCA hours are from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and until 3 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
