The primaries for the race to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions will open this morning.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. according to election manager Jamie Scarbrough.
“Just be sure and take a photo ID and get out and vote for sure,” Scarbrough said.
Scarbrough reminded voters that a crossover voting ban is now on place, meaning voters should vote int he party they want to vote for in a runoff.
“If there is a runoff, which there is expected to be since there are so many candidates, they’ll vote the same party,” Scarbrough said.
Voters should have been sent a crad in the mail telling them where their polling place is.
If any problems do arise whil out at the polls, Scarbrough gave a list of numbers residents can call to resolve their issues.
“They can call the board of registrars at 566-1757, probate office at 566-1246, circuit clerk at 566-5113 or the sheriff’s department at 566-4347,” Scarbrough said. “One of those should be able to help them with any issue they have.”
