Patricia Galloway Maddox

Patricia Ann Galloway Maddox, 83 of Mobile, passed away at her home on Monday, August 28.  To friends in Coffee County, where she lived for nearly 50 years, she was known as Pat. To family and friends in Pike County, where she was born, and elsewhere, she was known as Trish. And to her beloved grandchildren, she was Mama Trish.

Patricia was born at Tarentum in Pike County on March 8, 1934 to Davis Wheeler Galloway and Leo Maughon Galloway. She was the youngest daughter among seven children. She is survived by her brother, John Galloway and wife Ann, of Lafayette, LA.  Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Doris Stewart and husband Roscoe; brothers Morris Galloway and wife Mary Dean, Colbert Galloway, Davis Wilbur Galloway and wife Gertrude; infant brother Noah Galloway; and infant daughter, Sherri Denise Maddox.

She is also survived by daughters Cynthia Maddox and Jill Beard of Mobile; son Keith Maddox of Mobile; daughter-in-law Suzi Brunson Maddox; son-in-law Kerry Beard; grandchildren Jordan Elkins; Blake and Marlee Maddox; Kade, Kali and Tyler Beard; dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless friends. 

Funeral services will be held at St. John Church — in which she grew up and was baptized — in Tarentum at noon on Friday, September 1, with her nephew, Rev. Clint Ellis, officiating. Family visitation will also be at the church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
