A Troy man was arrested Thursday after police said evidence at the scene of a burglary led back to him.
Willie Auther Boyd, 37, was arrested at his residence at approximately 4:15 p.m. Thursday after police got warrants for his arrest.
The arrest stems from the burglary of a business in the industrial park that was reported to the Troy Police Department Thursday shortly after 3 a.m.
“Evidence from the business led investigators to Boyd and investigators were able to make contact with him at his residence,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “All the property stolen from the business was recovered from Boyd’s residence.”
Boyd was taken into custody without incident. Boyd was processed through the Troy City Jail and then incarcerated in the Pike County Jail on one charge of third-degree burglary, a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Boyd remains incarcerated in the Pike County Jail on a $3,500 bond.
