Paul L. Watson

Mr. Paul L. Watson, age 74, of Alston, and formerly of Troy, Alabama, died Thursday, November 16, 2017, in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after a brief illness. He was a native of Slocomb, Alabama, was a graduate of Slocomb High School, and served eight years in the Army National Guard. He was the former owner/operator of Standard Service Station in Slocomb and retired after thirty-four years as parts manager from Bullard’s Garage in Troy. After retirement, he moved to Alston to be near his daughters and grandchildren. He was Baptist by faith. Paul was a motorcycle enthusiast and built two custom Trikes. He was an avid Alabama football fan, and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Daisy Watson, and a brother, William Keith Watson.

Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Paula Watson; two daughters, Sandra Wood and husband Bill, and Penny Seabolt and husband Chris; three grandchildren, Kelsey Hinton, Callie Lambert, and C J Seabolt; four brothers, Kyle D. Watson and wife Carolyn, Wallace E. Watson, Johnny E Watson and wife Grace, Robert L. Watson and wife Jackie; one sister Barbara W. Toole and husband Larry; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Watson; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
