Residents in the Christmas spirit will find plenty to do in Downtown Troy this weekend.
The events get started tonight with a Christmas concert on the Square.
The concert will feature Johnny Barron and friends and will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m.
“We will also announce the Downtown Troy Christmas Window Decorating Contest winners at the concert,” said Leigh Anne Windham with the City of Troy. “The winning businesses will receive a quarter page ad in The Messenger.”
Then on Saturday and Sunday, Santa will be back on the Square giving horse and buggy rides from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Meanwhile Sunday, downtown shops will be holding a last-minute shopping day.
“Wrap up your Christmas shopping at our wonderful, unique shops and boutiques,” Windham said. “Register to win a Downtown Troy Christmas basket filled with wonderful surprises from your favorite downtown businesses.”
The day was originally planned to wrap up with a Christmas movie on the Square, but the event has been postponed to Wednesday December 20 due to rain.
The movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will begin showing at 5:45 p.m. instead on Wednesday.
