Katherine Brown Bray

Katherine Brown Bray went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born in Atlanta, March 10, 1936. She attended Atlanta public schools and graduated from the University of Georgia Grady School of Journalism.
Kathe was a homemaker, a legal secretary and also was employed by the Troy Public Library. Kathe was an excellent seamstress, crafter and quiltmaker. She was one of the founders of the Cotton Rose Quilters. She will be remembered for her calm demeanor and affectionate smile.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Bond Brown, and mother, Betsey Love Brown; sister, Bonda Brown Gibbs; and a brother, Cullen Brown. She is survived by her husband, John Roy Bray; children, Jon Congdon (Lesley), Gainesville, Ga.; Christopher Congdon, St Mary’s, West Virginia; Suanne Strickland (Kevin), Cleveland, Ga.; John Bray (Stephanie), Stone Mtn., Ga.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Dr. Wilton McRae, Chris Bray, Dr. Joel Bray, Marty Bray, Adam Congdon and Dr. Ed Hedden. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at noon from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Winton and Dr. John Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
