Lena Mae DiChiara, 86, of Anniston and formerly of Bessemer, Ala., passed peacefully in her sleep January 10, 2018. She was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church of Anniston and a past member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer. Lena Mae was a member of the Anniston Garden Club, Althena Study Club and Friends. She was a past member of Our Lady of Fatima Altar Guild, No Name Club, Altrusa and Bessemer Garden Club. Mrs. Lena was a loving wife, devoted mother and proud ‘MeMomma’ to her grandchildren and all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. DiChiara. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Mickey (Cheryl) DiChiara and Dr. Ronnie (Sally) DiChiara; her daughter, Mary Ellen (Dr. Charlie) Williams; her grandchildren, Neal (Curri), MariLee (Bobby), Michael, Brooke (Jacob), Erin (Mark), Mary Beth (Kevin), and Mary Catherine (Justin); nine great-grandchildren and extended loving family and friends. Funeral mass was Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with burial following at Valhalla Cemetery. Father Robert Sullivan will be officiating. The family received friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service at the church.
