The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center’s Child Abuse Awareness campaign for April 2018 is underway.
Camille Downing, CAC director, said all proceeds for the campaign will benefit child abuse victims in the Barbour, Bullock, Coffee and Pike county areas.
“Last year, we had 180 child abuse cases come through the Pike Regional CAC,” Downing said. “As for overall services to the schools in Pike County, Enterprise, Barbour County and Union Springs, we serve more than 3,000 students each year. Those numbers are a good indication as to how important our annual fundraising campaign is to continuing to serve the children in these schools.”
Open House at the Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center in Troy at 11 a.m. on April 2 and will officially kick off the local 2018 Child Abuse Awareness campaign.
Downing said there are several ways in which to support the 2018 Child Abuse Awareness Campaign in Pike County.

Pinwheels are available in any quantity at one pinwheel for every dollar donated. However, Pinwheel Project Kits are great for homeowners, Downing said. “For $30 you get 25 pinwheels for planting. Pinwheel Partner kits are also available for schools, churches and other groups with larger display areas. These kits include 50 pinwheels. Pinwheel Advocate Kits, with 100 pinwheels for planting, are designed for large companies. All planting kits include a yard sign promoting and supporting child abuse awareness.”
