Larry L. Stump, age 78, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Encompass Health in Dothan, AL. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Harry Driggers officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 2-3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Stump retired from the United States Air Force in 1981 after serving for 21 years. He was the owner of Stump’s Ice Cream Factory and Good Food for 17 years in Great Falls, Montana. In 2000, he sold the business, purchased a motorhome, and traveled with his wife, Liz, visiting old friends and making new ones. Taking pictures and producing photo albums each year was one of his favorite past-times.

As a member of Goshen Baptist Church, Mr. Stump took pride in his church family and loved them very much. During his life Mr. Stump was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather.

Survivors of Mr. Stump include his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth (Norris) Stump; Sons: Shawn Stump (Angel) of Richmond, VA, Jaret Stump (Kelly) of Kalispell, MT; Grandchildren: Jeremy Stump, Jade Stump, and Colton Stump of Richmond, VA, Renae Phillips (Timothy) of Kalispell, MT.; Great Granddaughter Kaylinn Elizabeth Perigan of Kalispell, MT; Brother: Richard Stump (Barbara) of Rustburg, VA; Special Niece: Becky Stump (Sam) of Massillon, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Stump is also survived by a very special friend, Margie Best.
