Police have made an arrest in the burglary of a Troy business earlier this month.
James Tyler Sikes, 19, of Troy, was arrested shortly after midnight on Wednesday, August 1, and charged with third-degree burglary.
The arrest stems from an incident in the 100 block of Pike County Road 5516 on July 24, 2018.
Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said his department was able to develop Sikes as a suspect in the case and obtain a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident.
He was processed into the Troy City Jail and transferred to the Pike County Jail, where he is being held on a $2,500 bond.
Third-degree burglary is a Class C Felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Troy police are investigating a rash of burglaries right now with four instance over the past weekend and another burglary the week before while people were still inside.
Two suspects were arrested Wednesday in connection with one of the burglaries, while police are still searching for the two suspects identified in the burglary of the occupied home.

Gilmer is described as a black male standing at 5’10” and weighing 160 pounds. Molette is described as 5’11” and weighing 172 pounds.
